DJI GO for Android has been released

Thinking the same, not updating it as mine seems to be running fine.

The DJI store is not setup for Auto Update, since the DJI release I think can't recall fully but at least 3 times the app updated, I think that's why.
They can squash the bugs fast with Play store. Just my guess, the FIRMWARE is going to come the same way with the APP. Feel free to correct me if I am misunderstood.

Have not been able to fly in a few days but when I started it up just now it said firmware up to date. Wired. Are you referring to the rc model? If so it is gl 300a

I have a an ( A Version Like You ) RC... My FIRMWARE is 1.3.20+ The App Version is 2.0.2. If that helps.

So are you saying I need to update the DJI GO app?

I have NO Idea, goto the play store goto DJI Go app and if it say's Update you have an Update waiting.

Lol thats what I'm scared about, with the DJI GO 2.0.1 I had bug outs during the end of flights and now have 2.0.2 and its fine but now they have another update and I'm scared I'm going to have bug outs from that.

Hoping this might help some. I have not had my P3A long, but from day one I have had Go App 1.3.20, FW 2.0.0 then 2.0.2 running on a Galaxy S6 with Android 5.1.1. I experienced what seems to be the common lag and freezing making video and any sort of FPV flight impossible. After several minutes of flight lag would start and eventually turn into a frozen screen that might update after 20+seconds. Also, my phone was always very hot after flight.

I read everything I could on the net and started to think the only cure was going to be to switch to an Air 2 which, for many reasons, I did not want to do. The good news is my S6 is now working great and there is no IOS device in my future :) (I do have what will be a dedicated Android Tablet in route as was my plan all along)

Another couple of notes on conditions.... My S6 resides in a thick heavy silicone and hard plastic case, I am sure this contributes to heat, but I am not willing to risk my phone falling unprotected. Also, all of my flights have been while temperatures were from the mid 80's to upper 90's in outdoor temperatures. I do try to stand in the shade for my comfort, but not always.

In short here is what I have done with my device and if it worked for me or not.
1. Use the close all function... didn't improve results...Still part of my preflight setup.
2. Airplane Mode... didn't improve results...Still part of my preflight setup.
3. Tried using a couple of App killers.... didn't improve results.... NO LONGER part of my preflight setup.
4. Changed from automatic channel selection to manual (channel 20) and turned bit rate to minimum....Did this at the same time as #5 see results there.... ... didn't improve results...Still part of my preflight setup.
5. Turned off video caching to my device....Saw some improvement ie. longer time before lag and freeze ups occurred but still far from what I think is usable...... didn't improve results...Still part of my preflight setup.
6. Downgraded Google Play Services to Version 7.5.71....didn't notice any real change.
7. Disabled Google Play Services.... THIS CURED THE PROBLEM!! I am now able to fly as long as I want, record as much video as I want, and I have noticed no lag, no freeze ups, and my phone is somewhere between cool and mildly warm after multiple batteries. (Before my phone was so hot after one battery I wouldn't have even considered more than one).

As for the disabling in #7 above, it was the only option left after the downgrade in #6. When I got into the Google Play Services portion of my application it indicates I still have version 7.5.71 and the only options are to "Force Stop" or "enable" it. I clicked "disable" to get it to this state.

As you can gather from the above items that I still go through I have not gone back to change settings and turn things back on to see if still having them adjusted this way is helping or not. My approach is that it is working so for the next couple of days until my tablet gets here I am leaving it alone!

This may or may not work for others, but after all of the valuable information I have gained here I wanted to try and give back something that might help others.

SO I disable Google Play too. Have two flights after doing that- NO PROBLEM- Now I'm testing further, Use Nvidia Shield

Nvidia Shield, P3A, FW 1.3.20, DJI GO version 2.01. I have disabled Google Play services and now it works perfect!

When I try to disable Google play services it gives me a message about being a active administrator or something. If I click ok it goes to a screen talking about deleting all data, changing screen lock, and locking the screen. Did it give you guys this message?

I didn`t "Disable" the "Services Google", but only roll back them to factory mode....also works.
Don`t forget to "Disable Updates" on "Play Store"....

Works like a charm.

Ok I figured it out. I had tried uninstalling updates but never seemed to work. I went to settings, then security, and clicked administrators. I was able to turn off google play as a administrator. I can now unis tall updates and was also able to disable it. Gonna go test it out real quick.

This is what I did as well. Sorry, I didn't include that in my long post, I'm old and forget things.... lol
Anxious to see if it works for you.

Ok. So with Google play disabled it will not load the map. I enabled it again and made sure auto update was off. It was much better!! I didnt notice any lag.. or if it was tgere it was so minimal i didnt notice. I was just cruising in straight lines though. On a side note I also went the farthest out I ever have. Got out to 5387ft.. just over a mile! Still full bars on both radio and video feed! Turned around came home and went almost a mike out in another direction.. I LOVE THIS THING!!

Straight line is neat agree, the video edits are so much nicer to edit. If I'm in the wilderness I will do 6 outs and backs like spokes and have everything I could need.

Interesting the maps won't load...
It's great to hear pilots having a great time...:)

No the map still active without Google Play/ Please delete the App-then delete App's folder- then reinstall the app

Nope I own one and tried, the app won't download it's not compatible
Yes You are right, but there is another way/ Link your tablet to PC- enter DJI site choose Phantom 3 -downloads- GJI Go( andriod version) download it to PC then put it to your tablet. So now You'll able to reinstall

If I uninstall and reinstall will I lose my flight data? Where do I go to delete the folder? Not sure I really wanna mess with it cause it seemed to already work better.

Before uninstalling your can syncronize your flight data to the cloud.
