Flytrex ??

I love mine,
Very cool, earning badges, seeing your flight
Patterns, then if you combine with DASHWARE,
It gets even cooler! I don't have many missions
under my belt yet, but am adding them weekly!
Adds a whole other aspect of fun to flying! Mine is
mounted under phantom belly, on my P2V.

( I had to remove pins ( or disassemble ) plug to get
Wires through leg holes, and then reassemble!
This way I did not have to drill holes!

DEFINATELY a GREAT purchase! You will LOVE it!

Take care, Fly safe!

Has anyone got the flytrex fitted to their phantom ?? What's your views on them as I've ordered one as I liked the way you can keep an eye on your flying time etc ?

From my flytrex I find out how far, high, long super imposed over a map. Love it

After I become a real pilot and I have a bunch of hours and experience under my belt, I will try some flying that I think the flytrex will help and then If I learn how to do the dashboard (not sure if thats the name, something dash..) thing and overlay the flytrex on my flight video is fantastic and I look forward to it.

It took me a little while to get the plug through the leg hole, but I did finally. It's very particular about how. I have mine mounted just about in the same place, but I have mine mounted on the other side so I don't cover the barometer (the little metal piece on the corner that has a hole in it). I'm using some regular Velcro to hold it in place.

I feel ya, Big T.,
I fiddled with that stupid plug for a while, then finally
Took out a safety pin, disassembled the plug, worked great!
Also, I went back and forth with FLYTREX staff about the barometer,
They said as long as you do not ( completely cover the little hole
( like tape it shut ) would not be an issue, I could actually mount
It inside the phantom shell, if I wanted to, but I figured it was better
Externally! I used 3m double lock, to mount it!
No issues yet! Just got DASHWARE, pretty cool, but have not figured it
All out yet, but learning new stuff daily! Hope to post a couple flights soon!
Edited with flytrex, DASHWARE, and movie editor pro!

Soon to come, I promise!

I have these upgrades
1) p2v
2) flytrex 2 core
3) pro guards
4) dji lens filter kit
5) set of bower lenses
6) tk102b tracker
7) tk102b tracker saddle bag
8) orange sticker set
9) lost call stickers ( phantom and Tx )
10) x1 lever mod ( no longer works with new update ) SUCKS
11) re700 wifi extender moded with 8dbi Sunhans antennas
( P2V+ extender )

Working on modding my extra Tx for farther Tx range!

Take care, Fly safe!

Something that I've found that works for syncing Flytrex data with video using Dashware...when I start the video, I film my watch (I have a digital Casio G-Shock with Atomic Time reception, so my time is accurate to usually within 1/4 second) right after I start the camera. Barring that, I will try and and run the P2V in a square around my location right after takeoff so I can note turn points. It's usually a pretty good alternative and noted in the video tutorial posted on here as well.

The only problem with the time display that I've found (and I've brought this up to the Flytrex team and they've acknowledged as an issue) is that if you're local date differs from the UTC date (and it will if you fly later in the evening given that my location is either -5 or -6 UTC) then the local date and time are incorrect, as well as the UTC date and time. I'm trying to figure this out and create a calculated field to correct it in Excel while waiting for a fix that Flytrex states is coming. They also state they're making a firmware change to allow the data files created on the flash card to properly timestamp the files (right now all files are timestamped 01/01/2000 12:00AM) to make it a little easier to match those up.

Thank you,
I have watched the tutorial video posted here ( several times )
And has helped A LOT!
I'm sure as I get better aquainted to it, it will be much
Easier for me, as I'm quite the idiot when it comes to PC
Stuff! ( I'm in the dark ages still lol )
But learning daily, and ALWAYS welcome other pilots tips & Tricks!
I will DEFINATELY use your advice on the SQUARE flight tip!
As it was my first biggest issue, getting the flytrex data synced to
DASHWARE ( just right )

My problem, is I usually have to read things SEVERAL times to truely
Understand what it means! Even with the phantom like
IMU, BTU, MC, ect. I was like what the heck?

But after reading a lot, and researching the web, finally figured it all out
Mod was the WORST!

MOD= MODUUS ( another term for absolute value )
That was tough to find!

I'm sure with time, I'll be helping others, but for now,
Just learning the basics, and fooling around with the MANY
gauges! Lots of fun though, regardless my knowledge,
Or lack of, lol.

I do appreciate your help, it will be used!

Take care, fly safe!
