Dual Battery Mod

Second hover with 1800 hyperions, 98% -> 50% 16min. Need to brake these in few more times and wait for good weather. Battery temps 14c -> 30c @ +4c.

Did you just cut them off the board ? Or did you desolder them ?? Jeez that was an outside job lol not kitchen table !! Glad it worked out though !!

I did desolder them, I was trying to peal back the covering and it started hissing and smoking . Lucky for me the front door was open. I ran for the door and thru it out. The house still smells. Makes a good smoke bomb. I wont be doing that any more.

I like that deal Horizon has, but in the UK. he should sell us here in the U.S. 2 battery do the mod and ship.

It looks like they have an Authorized US distributor Phantom P3 Power Mod V3 - Midwest Horizon FPV Antennas but the site is a mess... They have the v3 Power Mod listed as the mod to the bird instead of the battery. I tried calling Paul but went to VM. I'd like to know if they can deliver the same mod as the UK store.

Rulppa im thinking about just doing the Hyperion mod as well with the D100 charger and FPV Customs battery mounts etc. Like you I read about these Hyperion batterie puffing after just a charge or few. Are yours doing ok so far?
 
First test run of Hyperion G6 1800s.
Flew to 50% video says 17:34. Wasn't taking it that easy since my battery mod is just about broken in. Logged 38,000ft just flying around :)
Checked the batteries with a meter afterwards and they were both around 25-30%:confused::confused:. Maybe my meter is wrong. I'm curious how this rig draws power from the 3 batteries. DJI battery reads 50%. I guess the ext batteries provide most of the power early on. I wonder if there is a serious drop off once the ext. batteries are empty? FPVLR v2 working nicely as well ;)

Pretty interesting...The spike is the Hyperion 1800s 15.2v vs Nano-tech 1600s 14.8v. This is all the flights on my mod so far and all flights to 50%.

All 3 batteries voltage I would think should draw down somewhat equally, voltage not battery %. Since the 1,800's only contain ~38% of the capacity of the main 4,800 P3 battery their % remaining will be less, but I think voltage should be similar.

I'll take my chances on these batteries. I am only going to charge them at 1C. I have the same charger as well.

Thanks, that makes sense. I'm charging up again for another test run. This time I'll record the voltages of each cell in all 3 batteries.
