Do you think the best way to validate the batteries is the way you did? Just fire up the drone and let it hover and see how it goes? Or isn't that sufficient?

IMO, the best way to test a questionable battery is real world - fly it in an open field at low height while watching the battery info closely. Max thrust it back and forth. Fly it until the battery is a bit lower percentage in charge than you'd usually fly. Check the log to see that the cells stay somewhat balanced. Good luck

Possible loophole - You could fly to USA (with your P3), buy the P3 battery, then fly back home. :-D

No, 0-20% as described in the manual refers to battery life, not battery level.
