For profit needs a 333 exemption and a licensed pilot

It does not cost anything to apply for a 333 exemption.

the pilot license however will cost you 4-10k depending on how fast you learn and how quick you want to get it done.

Geese!!! That's too much! Are there any penalties for not having a pilot license?

You cannot use the FAA UAS registration when flying for commercial purposes. Instead, you must register each aircraft and get an N number for each aircraft. In most cases, you don't need a COA when flying below 200 feet.

A pilot license will be a requirement in your approved 333 exemption. So, you will not be able to use your exemption without it.

You cannot fly for profit without a 333 exemption (and following the requirements within). Doing so would be illegal.

I just don't think I can spend a couple thousand on a pilot license

In most cases, 200 feet is probably too high for taking video/photos of homes.

Then, you should not fly commercially.
