Ouch, and I thought I was bad off with 597.

I haven't even ordered yet. I wonder if I'll get mine before the P3V comes out?

Here is a quick and dirty of the gimble at work after installation. I have made an installation video and will post tomorrow. It's pretty straightforward, 10-12 minutes should be sufficient.

Flight time test tomorrow (weather permitting).

What do you guys that have the gimbal installed think about landing skid spacers or extended legs? I was looking at some on eBay last night but then thought about portability and fitting everything into a case. Maybe some removable insulation on the skids to raise everything up a bit?

On the fence...

Thanks iResq. Yours seems to be lower at the back than the front - much more space between gimbal controller board and Phantom underside when compared to the other installation we saw earlier...?

I wonder if that is a difference in the number of turns to the thumbscrews on the mounts.

I'm predicting that the traffic on this thread will actually slow down now that the gimbal has been spotted in the wild.

Uh oh, this looks like it doesn't bode well for my case. Would you be so kind as to measure and tell me how far out past the landing skids the camera is when pointing straight forward? Thanks.

That's an awesome gimbal. Great job RotorPixel. I'm concerned the same as a few posts back... if I ordered now, DJI might release their gimbal before I get a RotorPixel gimbal <sigh>.

Hello everyone, I'm new on this forum, I did order new gimbal and can't wait for it. I do understand it might be 1-2 months. This is my first video I made. I enjoyed filming it, of course practiced a lot flying my DJI, but I didn't like the shakes so I decided to wait till we get our gimbals. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

"so I decided to wait till we get our gimbals", but your 1st video, without Rotorpixel gimbal? What did you actually decide?

I have the exact same concern! Yes - please post how far out past the landing skids the camera extends (with your filter)

thx

Since you didn't use a RotorPixel gimbal to shoot the video, I think you should use this thread to post your videos: viewforum.php?f=6

I also think you should not add copyrighted material (music) to your videos, if you want to be able to post them publicly. Use something like http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/ for your music choices :)

Hi all, this is my first post. I finally have something to contribute. I to share the concerns now of the gimbal fitting into my case. If someone could measure the distance between the landing skid and the front of the lens it might help some of us. I also have a concern of where to locate the FlyTrex. What if we were to locate it on a small narrow platform stretching between the rear landing skids? If platform could be secured, could it work? I'll try to attach two pictures of my mockup.

If the platform works, try not to mount the PCB too close to the compass.

Have a job putting the flytrex connector in also

Certainly no expert here - your solution may work perfectly well, but this is on the Flytrex website concerning direct sunlight:

Mount Flytrex Core

.... Since Flytrex includes sensors that are sensitive to direct sunlight we suggest mounting it to the sides or facing down and not at the top of the Phantom, although it will still work well.
