can you at not least show us the video footage of the test you have done as this would be a great help in deciding if it worth the wait. you have said the video footage is great I understand how busy you are but if you could fine the time to put it even if its the raw unedited would be a great help to us all

It's 4:36am here, and I'm still working on this **** site. I'm going to sleep now, and will pull some nice footage together to post tomorrow, if I can! A lot of what I have is just from dicking around my property, but it certainly shows that the video is stable, and jello-free! As was mentioned in this thread earlier on, people usually appreciate well-polished product videos over sloppy test videos of boring subjects, so we've been waiting to get some footage from some interesting locations first... but we're being attacked from all angles for some "proof" that our gimbal works.

On a related note, which will hopefully give our gimbal manufacturing some more credibility, here is a video I shot and edited with one of our Hero 3 gimbals in Guadalupe, while running a great white underwater photography expedition. It isn't actually finished yet, and it isn't public... I'm going to make it private again in the morning, but take a look at it now:

Stable enough for you? :)

Keri
Great! for me is clear... your gimbal is my gimbal!
Just finish it early as you can we are desperates :)

I call fake - those sharks didn't have any frickin' laser beams....

;)

Very smooth, though. Don't think anyone can doubt your gimbals - it's more the wanting to see actual Vision footage stabilised but I get why you wouldn't want to throw just any old junk up. Although I get the feeling people wouldn't care if it wasn't pretty scenery! Thanks for the hard work thus far, it looks like it will be worth it for you bearing in mind all the interest.

I am trying very hard to stay patient... It is time to see this gimbal in action. Based on the previous gopro model, I am very excited by the possibilities of this rig. But I have to wonder what is the hold up? Show me a raw flight video and give me a working pre-order button and odds are I am going to show you the money. Thanks!

Video footage is superb. We're just already so incredibly swamped with emails, adding names to the notification list, responding to YouTube questions, finishing design aspects, and making the online store usable internationally (creating various shipping options for every country we expect to sell to takes quite a while!).

We have received our custom PCBs, and custom cables which pull power from the main battery to the gimbal, and send a flexible wire directly to the Vision camera... it's pretty awesome!

To answer someones question about what the notification list is good for.... we ill be notifying everyone on the list by email that pre-orders are open. Once Pre-orders have begun, for X number of days (to be determined), we will be accepting orders, and arranging them in our shipping queue based on where in the notification list each customer is. If a random person sees ou gimbal, and places an order immediately upon opening the pre-orders, but then all of you on this forum place orders after that person, your orders will still go out before the original order, since you've all expressed interest for quite a while. Once the X number of days are concluded, orders will then be taken and shipped in the order that they are received, giving no preferential treatment to notification listers.

We think this is the only fair way to go about pre-orders. Although, we are open to other suggestions!

Keri

Just open it up to all. Considering you haven't established your price , what happens if it is priced out of the "lists" range ? Money is money and no one has given you any as a deposit . Seems like a lot of extra work to appease a list of people who may or may not buy . Again had you taken money then i can see but that did not happen

While I understand the complexity of all you have to do to prepare the launch, I'm puzzled as to why you cannot or will not announce the price of the gimbal. Surely you have that nailed down by now? I'm sure you have your reasons.

No, we haven't decided yet, but for good reason.

Just a few minutes ago (21 minutes ago, actually), we concluded an arrangement with AlexMos/Basecam to be an official, licensed manufacturer of their gimbal control boards, so this should reduce the cost of the product in the long run, however, currently, we are purchasing gimbal control boards in bulk from a European supplier, which is very expensive, even when we buy in bulk.

Additionally, we are currently having all CNC machining done locally (Canada) - however, we are looking into overseas solutions instead (i.e. China), which will likely be significantly less expensive.

These are just two (of many) factors which has prevented us from nailing the price down firmly, but we are very very very very close. There just don't seem to be enough hours in the day!

Keri

Thanks for the update! I visited your website (http://www.rotorpixel.com) right away to get more information about your amazing gimbal. I fully understand that you can not state i precise price for the gimbal. The specifications however would be very nice? Weight, how to fix it to the PV2, gimbal control, hardware used (servos etc.)

When I am buying (expensive) hardware, I always take a look at the manufacturers website, to find the following: Support. Manuals. Updates (firmware/software). News.

I really like that you are using the AxelMos control boards, I hope you will post howto videos. What I really liked about DJI (before I got the PV2) was the detailed howto videos, making me feel safe to buy the product. What I really don't like about DJI is the total lack of information. I hope you find my ramblings useful, if not, just ignore them :)

So will you be pricing the early adopter orders the same as those who discover you 6 -12 months from now? Regarding pricing, a mentor of mine said to always find your baseline and average it out. Dont screw over the early adopters because of the initial costs knowing the costs will go down over time.

I've got $349.00 burning a hole in my pocket right now. Can you make that happen?

What's the wifi range?

Post some real world videos.

If it's amazing you should be shouting from rooftops with footage.

This is ridiculous in my opinion .. If the parts of the gimbal go up by 100 bucks for rotor pixel to buy ..will you send them a check 6-12 months later . so that you are paying the same as those that discover it later . Price is the Price ..

By the way , no disrespect ..this is just a such a niche market

As usual thank you for the updates Keri. I'm not concerned about an exact price. I am just happy that you gave us a rough estimated price. I believe this was discussed before but I really hope that the gimbal allows tilting for straight down shots. I also am excited that this gimbal will allow swapping of the vision camera and the GoPro (with purchase of additional mount). Very versatile. You are filling in where DJI dropped the ball and we are all very excited.

How do I get added to the notification list?

I have been on the sidelines since I purchased my vision at christmas. i am excited as everyone is about the gimbal. i understand about all the inputs and pricing that goes into manufacturing a product. as quantity of scale goes up in purchasing the inputs, the price can come down. Keri is walking a tightrope to price this correct coming out of the gate. Balancing the information he can provide the customer before all the numbers are in. Wanting to keep the potential customer happy while, but not jump the gun and have to back up on pricing. Give them a little room, keep your cool so Keri can. I'm in on the pre-order.

+1 these folks have demonstrated their capabilities already with their other gimbals. It's clear that they know how to make them AND more important, they have their own sense of quality that is quite evident. I love the design, if you watch the product video closely you can see the cabling involved which is minor. The production version cables will be even better.

Folks should stop being so demanding, the product will come. I'm on the list and have no hesitation that this will be a great add-on for the Vision.

For those who want to have the TX control the tilt. DroneExpert did this by extracting the X-1 tilt signal direct from the receiver board and mixing it with the stock tilt servo output so that both the phone app and TX control can tilt the gimbal. This can be done by anyone with the technology to do this and is independent of any gimbal.

I hope either Keri and his team jump in to do this or someone else takes a stab. I've started to attempt to extract the tilt control from the RX S-Bus connection to the Naza but have more to learn about the protocol. In any case it can be added later as they are independent functions.

Thanks to Keri for being a great communicator, not many companies share as much on their progress as you have, much appreciated!

Yes, I agree.
Thanks Keri. I am sure glad I was the first one to contact you. :)

Guys, how do I put my name on the waiting list please?

I emailed him through his website and asked to be updated when the link goes live. I hope this puts me on the list. Is there an official list? If so, I too would like to be added and know how to be added.

C'mon Rotorpixel when is the link going live

The way I understand is that they will email everybody first so we have an option to order before the public??? Right Keri??

Or they will email you to pre-order from the site (not private), then compare orders to "the list" and prioritize the shipments to the list folks first, for the first 10 days. I believe that's how he spelled it out.

I think he has probably created way too much extra work on himself. The list makes no sense. He will more then sell his 1st hundred (or however many) units in no time.
