They have HAD them destroyed in the camera department in the "enthusiasts" or "prosumer" market.
The X3 destroys the CGO2. I don't know much about the CGO3 from Yuneec but what I do know is the CGO4 is a straight up Panasonic GH4 full frame camera so DJIs X5r will hopefully be tops. I for some reason am rooting for DJI to win out. The competition is great for the consumer though in both price and innovation. We would never get things this fast if it wasn't such a large emerging market with so many players trying to get to the top. It's great that all the companies vying for the #1 spot in this emerging markets are all relatively new companies and being assisted by giants like Intel.
I still think SO FAR, DJI makes better products with better components. I am almost certain that the Phantom 4 (Tomato) or whatever it is will be a better system then the Typhoon H but I'll have both the second I can get my hands on them. True worry free obstacle avoidance will be fantastic when it hits. I think it will probably need a generation or two before you can just throw the drone in the air and walk through a forest and have it follow you but what a glorious day when that can be. The Drone Wars are exciting (and that name sounds cool).
I don't know why everyone wants a zoom so bad. Yes, an optical zoom would be nice for certain occasions for convenience but with drones we essentially have a dolly in the sky.
You will obviously see a cinematographer (it is somewhat different for straight photography) but for video/film you would rather push in than zoom. That's why we have dolly tracks so we get a nice organic push, and not a zoom like a 70s porno.
Don't get me wrong, it would be nice to not have to fly to a certain spot just to get the shot so a zoom would be nice for that reason alone but for video, why need a zoom when you can push forward? I know I'm in a minority here but the organic feel of a fly in vs a zoom or a dolly push vs a zoom on the ground. Same difference.
That's why I am so addicted to areal photography and cinematography, it's like I have dolly tracks laid all over the world, just for me.
