personal vision videos

If you look at the professionals none of them use all the flashy fades between clips because if you do it tends to scream amateur. A simple fade or a straight cut is what is used the most.

Yes, absolutely agree. A lot of the programs seem to compete with one another as to the number of transitional tricks they offer. As you say, a simple fade or cut works best. I have seen really nice vbideos on here that do not even have the clips in chronological order and yet they work. Someone needs to make a list of simple do's and don'ts and other tips and tricks. I have read a lot on here but they are all jumbled up all over the place. Any takers .....?

The other day I tested my P2 FPV setup. I was not trying to film anything but as its another flightless day in the UK I set myself a test to make a video out of the totally aimless flying you do whenever your testing something. Hence the title Aimless FPV.

The question is, is it watchable :)

Yes, it is watchable but I know the real reason your are posting - you are just showing off your straight down ability ;) very jealous :)

How very true

A quick edit I knocked out on Youtube. Used Youtube stabilizer for some shots which isn't bad (still a little bit of jello). You'll also see some exposure issues - This winter sun low in the sky makes for exposure challenges depending on the direction you're shooting. All shot in Northern VA near DC (which ain't the easiest place to find places to fly). No Phantom's were harmed in the production of this video...

I am coming to the conclusion that one thread for all personal videos is not a good idea at all now. The videos pick up very little comment and even when they do it rapidly becomes disjointed with the posting of other videos. The video I quote really deserves its own thread. Its an exceptional location to fly and must have taken a hell of an effort to carry the equipment up to the take off point. The other thing that really puzzles me about this video is that the pilot looks to be using a Phantom 2 Vision controller yet the video has the smoothness of a Phantom Zenmuse ?

If this is a Vision then is it using a Gimbal? if so which one?

Really interesting video. Thanks for posting.
