Is there an RC Transmitter that controls more than one type?

I've got micro-quads, mini-quads, and a Phantom. Is there a Controller that can fly them all?

There are modular transmitters that can control many types, provided you have a compatible plug-in module for each type.
Examples are the FlySky TH9X, Turnigy 9X/9XR, FrSky Taranis, and various high-end Futaba ones.

Thanks CityZen I'll look those up. What's a plug-in mod BTW? I'm a newbie.

Transmitters consist of 3 basic parts:
- the physical sticks & controls
- a computer that reads the sticks & controls & settings and produces a combined "PPM" signal representing all the control info.
- a radio transmitter that modulates the PPM signal to be sent to the receiver.

A modular transmitter lets you replace the radio part in order to work with different kinds of receivers. It's just a black box that plugs into the back of the transmitter, and usually includes its own antenna.
