how far can you go now , after the downgrade to 1.5.7 ? i have the same issue here after the update to 1.6.8
i am a little scared of rolling back the firmware.
Took it out today after the rollback, went out to 400m before turning back. Could have gone further but happy with that for the moment. Video rock solid, some reporting of control dropping out but no auto RTH. I'll try again tomorrow.

Took mine out the other day with 1.6.80 on and could barely get 50m without losing video. Downgraded to 1.5.7+ and got 440m. Easily could have gone further, but lost LOS and video cut so flew it back. No RTH at all and perfect video.

Thanks for the fast reply,
Note: i had contact with DJI, send my brand new drone back to repair. they have send me a new one, and after the update right out the box the problem is still present.
im sick off it right now, I go back to 1.5.7
the firmware in the bird is the problem. it is impossible that they have 2 times send a non funcitonal drone...

customer service about this problem is very bad, they f*ckt up there own firmware and don't want exept that.

have a good and save flight...

thanks for your information.

After that al systems green and up and running.
Now can not fly because it is dark outside ...
The first thing I'm going to do morning is fly my bird up to the sky.. [hopefully more than 50 meters]

Thanks all the people who have worked on here to solve this problem, keep up the good work.

The firmware on the SD card is identical to or older than the current firmware on the aircraft.

im guessing it tryed to downgrade a second time but aborted?
the FW file is still on sd card.do i now have to delete it?

the SD card should only have 1 .bin file (P3C_FW_V01.05.0070.bin) on it when upgrading .
after the update format the card. and yes it looks dat you try it 2 times...

format the sd card, put a fresh P3C_FW_V01.05.0070.bin on it en try it again...

Strange. Their was only one .bin file and i only done the d/grade once. But i then turned everything back on to check version in app. Their was no sounds like it was trying again but the file was still on sd card,i hadnt reformatted it.
Very windy here again today so cant test it out yet. Bloody irish weather, supposed to be summer here!

I can not test too much wind here too 5Bft ... perhaps this evening.
First watch the Formula 1 in Silverstone (Go Max verstappen)

And after booting from the secondary filesystem (bootm 0x9f420000) I got

hardware version:WM321-01
loader version:00.00.00.01
software version:01.00.09.14

Which means there are two different firmwares in the remote itself. One is the "original" backup copy.
BTW, With this version my power settings are set to US but 17dBm

This evening made a test flight,
the bird flew ease to 120 (393Feet) meters high and 300 (984 Feet) meters far (settings on the RC because to windy)
Also tested "follow me" and "point off interest and tried ATTI. all works fine.

"Return to home"", no problem.
No signal lose and a awesome steady video signal.
before the downgrade i get a range of 50 meters and 40-60 meters far from the homepoint.

Also i had a better GPS signal (12 pieces all the time)

im happy again with my P3 Standard, flying like a eagle.

Specs @ this moment:
Bird: Firmware 1.5.7
Controller: 1.6.8
DJI GO app: 2.8.2

Conclusion:
DJI have F#ckt up there firmware .... only on the bird!
Tip: Do not send your new bird back to DJI Repair, its only the firmware who is responsible for the range problems.
