Winter in Newfoundland, Canada

If anyone is planning a trip to Newfoundland, I would suggest waiting till summer... What Leonard is failing to mention, most of Newfoundland is still digging out from 30 foot high snow drifts LOL
Very true and I just got finished snow blowing another 15 cm we got last night. July, August and September would be best months but fall and winter are great too if you are a hunter or snow lover. Cheers

Thanks for the tips and for posting all the photos. We are hoping to get over around July 6ish, that way we will have some time to explore before heading to Gros Morne. Any scenic Provincial parks you would recommend. When I was a kid we stayed at Blow Me Down and our Tent trailer just about got blown down!

Chris
If you are coming to Avalon Peninsula La Manche park on souther shore is a nice little park and lots of history on the southern shore plus great shore for whale watching and bird watching especially at Witless Bay.

Thanks. Will look into that park. Will be bringing a 200-500mm lens with a Tele-converter so will have 700mm reach. In addition to drone photography, I love star photography and bird photography. Would love to get some shots of whales from shore too. One of my sons who has Special Needs loves whales and knows them all. What whales do you usually see?

Chris your son will love it here then. Mostly humpbacks, minke and in past few years killer whales have been showing up more and more. I find that Gallows Cove Road in Witless Bay is one of the better spots for whale watching from shore plus the millions of puffins and other seabirds. Here’s a few whale pics I took while out with one of my buddies on his fishing boat off Witless Bay few years ago. Their sprays from their blowholes was blowing right in our faces at times, very stinky fishy breath lol. Cheers

Don’t know if I am supposed to be posting just drone photos here or not. I apologize if that’s so and could someone please let me know if that is the case. Thanks

To all that posted all the great pictures, great shots guys, but for myself I prefer bikini's over Ice anytime!!!!

Nice pictures Leonard, I spent almost two years in Newfoundland all of it in Stephenville while stationed at Harmon Air Force Base. Been married to a Newfie for 53 years, but haven't been back to the island in 20 years.

I have to assume by the quality of these pictures that these were taken on a MINI and not a Pro correct as they seem a little off.

I'm an award-winning professional photographer, but I have to say I'm not familiar with the technical term...'they seem a little off'. :) FWIW, they seem fine to me.

The original pictures posted by the OP seemed out of focus to me, and after taking a close look appear to be the case thus a little off but not broken.

I did't take this video of La Scie, NL pronounced La C, but I think it is one of the prettiest places in NL and If I could ever talk the wife in moving back this would be the place.

Sure is a beautiful spot. Have never been there but would love to see it in person.
