Who flies out-of-the-box stock, & why?

I fly mine stock...and if I could figure a way of doing so, I would go back to the orginal firmware that my P3pro came with.

Out of the box, it was solid, flew well, good range, good battery life and solid......like hardly any drifting at all. Even in a crosswind.

Then the firmware updates got crammed down my throat sideways, by Phantom. Since then, the range been nerfed, the P3pro drifts, video signal drops out alot.

Firmware... not an exact science, is it... I'm sure they think they have it right when they release it but they just don't have the capacity to test it the way millions of users will once they update to it. Unfortunate and frustrating.

P3S, I added the DBS extender and prop guards. I simply got bored with the limited distance using the stock remote.

Me too, but I got an extra remote to do it so I can keep (or return) the entire system stock if I want. Not sure why, just makes me feel better.

I fly stock and never update my P3's. Gotten to 18,000 ft. Never had an issue except some "propulsion output limited errors".
