Can a waypoint route be created and the flown on the dji go app. (New user)

No. You must fly the route in order to set the waypoints. Once recorded, you can automatically fly that mission.

Or you can purchase Litchi and then you can create your waypoint mission beforehand on the app or in mission hub.

Or use DJI Ground Station Pro (it's free).

Haven’t used GSP since I think it reqires a tablet to use, but that would definitely be a better option since its free and is made by dji.
