I just got a new warning on DJI GO app that says: "Remote controller assisted take off initiated" while trying to take off. What is that about? It won't let me fly more than a couple of feet from my take off position.

It's just a notice that You started using joysticks, not automatically via icon. Nothing to do with flying range.
Um does it brake all directions or just going foward.first thought I have is obstical avoidence has detected something,,try turning off,see if it changes
Thanks ianzone, I think you are correct. Just took it out back for another test flight. I must have been trying to go forward to low to the ground and the optical avoidance system was seeing some of the ground. Thought I had my first problem with my P4 since I bought it. It is only 1 and a half years old. Still love it. Thanks again for your input.
