Upgrade RC GL300A to 1.4.0010 (ios dji go app 2.2.0)

Wondering if I need to upgrade my RC GL300A for the new 1.4.0010 (ios dji go app 2.2.0) version. I tried with the bin fil on usbstick and put it into RC. Nothing happened. But after last upgrade I remember someone said, and I also read, that last time was the last time we could upgrade with the usbstick.

Thank you. I read the how_to en v1.2 pdf but it said a lot about upgrading the RC - so I was a bit confused. I also found out that there is no need to upgrade the batteries (if you have more than one).
