Signal Loss

Hi!

Hope the masses can help me understand a challenge I sometimes get....

When I fly to maximum altitude (straight up from take off) I seem to lose control of the drone and it hits failsafe mode (currently set to land rather than RTH) - what's odd about this is that I can still control the gimbal but no directional control is possible.

Once it's landed I have to power on and power off the drone to be able to get signal back - I can then fly as if nothing had happened?

Any thoughts?

May be the orientation of you antenna and what are you calling maximum altitude?

Sorry - probably should have said that I have the altitude ceiling set at the UK maximum of 400ft.
I usually have the antenna pointing straight out from the remote.

The bit I don't really understand is that when I have no control with the "sticks" for horizontal or vertical control I can still use the gimbal tilt - surely all the controls are just part of the same data stream?

Cheers

C.
