Settings stored in app or drone?

I recently changed some of the gimbal settings, as well as controller settings from my iPhone. After 2-3 flights, I borrowed a friends iPad and downloaded the dji app and used it to fly, and it looks like all my settings are gone!! I'm assuming the settings are stored in the app on my phone? Or no?

Many of the settings are stored on the Phantom. That's why your Phantom needs to be connected to the DJI GO app when you set them up.
