And looking at the very first picture again - I notice that your little bird wasn't the only one up there - Top centre, there's a meteorite making an entry, and about 1/4 way up on right and side, there's a slightly larger object, (an aeroplane?) flying by.

Yes indeed, I noticed them but forgot to mention, I'd say you're correct on your identification of both objects.
