Nice! Thanks for sharing. It's bright daylight, the sun is up, but only at one moment I saw little bit of banding caused by props shadows on the lens. You either got lucky, or planned your shots well. How long did it take for ~4 min video to edit?

OMG. This is very gutsy flying! The shot when Phantom flies under rock arch... My heart stopped beating for a second. Take it from the guy who just crashed his bird into the bridge and lost it in the river. I can't believe P2V+ can overtake speed boat. You must have speed up the video of relatively slow going boat, didn't you? ;)

Impressive editing, brave flying. Beautiful scenery, definitely helps.

Simply beautiful! Wonderful landscapes, beautiful ocean fly overs, volcanic ridges etc.!

Of course you realize you're putting many of us to shame with your footage! Hey, not all of us are able to film with our PV2+'s in such naturally beautiful places! ;)

Well done and loved the music you chose for your compilation as well.

You guys all do great filming and compared to me, lol. Oh well, I'm happy with just flying my bird and filming what I do in boring old Ontario. :p

Here is the last flight of my first Phantom... I was flying at around 7:00a on a Saturday morning to minimize the number of curious by-standers and have some space to film around these tall condos. I decided to dare and fly the aircraft over a suspended bridge between two towers and come back, but things did not go as hoped... The first 2' 20" of video are all good, then it gets a bit more exciting... I have since bought a new aircraft (which has not been flying nearly as well) and have stayed clear of residential areas.

Please accept condolences from another GTA resident who lost his bird recently. :(((

Cathedral Town Church in Ontario, Canada.

I used and credited TSO's music and youtube complained, that video will be unavailable in some countries. Let's see. If it really is, I'll have to replace music with Creative Common one and re-edit video.

I just watched this video compilation again and it's fantastic! flyHI, You should consider selling your footage to the tourism and travel industry of Hawaii! It is so good that I saved it to my hard drive for my personal viewing pleasure.

No offense guys, but flyHI has got us beat! It's really hard to compete with that kind of scenery, backgrounds and videography.

EyesofCanadaGoose, I recognize those filming locations....very nice work yourself too. Sadly, I still think flyHI has shamed us, lol

Wow thanks guys, I really appreciate your comments and all of your videos as well! I have seen some great stuff that has given me some awesome ideas for shots of my own. I am definitely blessed with some amazing scenery and being born and raised in Hawaii, this has now allowed me to see things I have seen a thousand times from a totally new perspective which has frankly become extremely addicting. I definitely pushed the limits a little with some of my shots but to be honest, this PV2+ deserves a lot of the credit...so smooth and fast. I did speed up some of the shots..the boat was actually going around 25-30mph so I was maxing out the speed on the bird and it was able to overtake it.

I have a question though, I upgraded to the latest firmware for most of this footage and I just read that the 1.08 is better for more agile flying? Any thoughts?

There was a recent discussion about 1.08 and why so many prefer it, but I can't find it now. This board's search engine is poor at best and the way some of the admins merge topics together can be very annoying and confusing.

Just a note to the moderators and admins; the search function here is very poor and by merging threads you deem similar together, is making it even more difficult for some of us to find previous topics.

Nice work. Beautiful weather really highlights the greens and blues. Loved the last shot at the crossroad panning from the white building to down the street.

OK, what I didn't share in my post a few back was that my bird survived a mishap. I hit a tree and it hit the ground. But it recovered and shot straight up until it hit another tree. Then it tumbled down into a bed of fluffy plants (I think they were part of the liriope family). Two props were damaged but the gimbal/camera was not. Thank goodness because this bird already required a replacement shell and a gimbal/camera assembly when our hired videographer crashed it at my son's wedding. This video is 30 seconds and I slowed it down for a cameo shot of me in the midst of the tumbling.

Hehe. That made my day. Great choice of music.
Glad your bird was ok.
Thanks for sharing.

I'm guessing your camera has an extreme case of thermally-induced light spots.

HI Dirty Bird,

I originally posted a new thread about this issue however found your comments here and thought I'd ask for more info/thoughts. Here's the original thread: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=20677 The videos and pictures I posted there show so much "white spot noise" the video is useless.

I've been a pro photographer since th 80s and have worked with all kinds of cameras with CCD and CMOS sensors, (including custom cooled rigs) since they first hit the market. I regularly shoot in 110 degree weather here in the desert. I've never seen noise like this. However, assuming heat the issue, one thing doesn't make sense. The white spots only show up in narrow FPV mode. They don't show up in any other mode. If this was heat related noise, why doesn't it show up in other video modes?

Another question/thought, if this is noise due to heat related electron spillover, wouldn't this be considered a manufacturing flaw? The quality of the sensor build also plays a huge role in spillover noise. I would also think that this glaring of and issue would have shown up in testing.

On a side note, before I got this noise, I was already thinking of building a small heat sink back for the camera. I don't know if anyone else experiences this, however, the brushless gimbal motor actually creates a lot of heat which is transferred to the camera.

Any input would be great.

Thanks so much! To be honest, I got lucky, I knew to stay out of some shots of the sun and I really tried to keep the camera in one position and not have it go up and down in video. That video took me about 45 min, biggest part was getting the scenes lined up with the music, especially the beginning. It was fun though!

Thank you! It was a little windy but it was a great day! One of the tricks I liked was that in Premiere, you can use Fast Color as an effect and I increased the saturation on the video from 100 to 140, it made it pop a little more. I tried something different when I was panning down, I usually would rush at it and then go straight up, thanks again!
