Let's see some videos!

High Shanghai : A high view of a high city

I'm still impressed by some shot because, if you look carefully, it was REALLY windy on some of those days, mainly the sunny cos in Shanghai, no wind = big block of clouds. This bird handles its wind brilliantly.
I also know some will say one shouldn't fly around people, but in Shanghai there is no such thing as 'a place without people' so have to make do. Also, I never fly out of sight and though those distances or heights might be impressive, they're not as I always had a clear line of sight... and they are nothing compared to those on this forum pushing the limits of control/FPV. :p

Just sharing the enjoyment ! :)

Bless !

Beautiful shots of actual clear day there! I was hoping on the shots of the shanghai tower that you would go even higher up to the crane on top but I bet the wind would of been WAY high up there.

Here is my first Video. I will mostly be using the Phantom to shoot videos of my daughter riding trials as well to cover some of the competitions in Belgium and a couple of Worldcups.

I tried to use the youtube button to insert it but it did not work.

Finally got to the nerve to fly elusively over water this morning. I both launched and retrieved from another boat, seen in a few shots. (It's a brand new replica, built by my brother. IT's seriously for sale, and it's Bad to the Bone!)

Here's a video I shot this weekend of our camping trip, using the P2V+ and Adobe Premier to edit. Pretty good shots descending by trees, over lake(s), etc. Enjoy

Part of some footage I helped with for a promo piece

when flying over a boat does everyone use atti mode. i'd hate to lose connection and it goes back to shore or even worse where i left off.

After I get GPS fix and home point locked in, I switch to ATTI mode to take off. While flying, I switch between GPS and ATTI mode as the shot dictates. For the most part, I use GPS, because I often need to just stop and look up, and figure out where the Phantom is facing etc...

If you are going to film close to land, and have the time, you could take off from a boat, then go hover over a landing spot and reset your home point over the dirt, and then fly out over land for filming. This would eat up a little battery time, but if she decided to RTH on her own, at least she would be heading for land.

For the most part, flying and filming over water is a huge risk. If the Phantom lands in the water, I think it's probably done for if you can even find it. On the other hand, if you fly within about 2-3 miles of any water, even a small water hazard on a golf course, and your Phantom does a flyaway, you are risking it ending up in the water, so the risk of a water crash isn't ever zero.

I did make some water floats for it, but they were pretty much in the shot most of the time, and degraded the flying qualities.
