This morning I was on my first flight of the day on the second day of a photo/video/drone trip through Utah and I had a complete loss of comm and a disconnect. I was flying in some canyons and was being a bit more adventurous and about 12 minutes into the flight I get a warning about signal and then -- nothing. I waited a few seconds then pressed the RTH button on the remote and about 30 seconds later the video comes back after a few spurts and then I pressed and held the RTH button again and took back control of the drone (P4P). So, close call but rule #1 is -- DON'T PANIC. Easy said then done.

So, after that close call I made 4 more flight today -- no other issues...

The no panic thing is key. No good outcome ever comes from panic. Loss of comms is certainly unnerving. Now that I am a little more comfortable with my P4P+ I've started to rehearse a few key scenarios such as flying more in atti mode and regularly testing RTH.
