Has anyone flown covering the top of the phantom to block the gps signal?. How does the phantom handle? Does it fly like the phantom 1 in manual mode? Does it fly like in atti mode? Anyone try?

It'll fly like it's in ATTI mode -- because it will be in ATTI mode.

Flying with foil will not record GPS location whereas flying in ATTI mode forcefully will record location.

What if you just turn off GPS mode on your tablet, won't this work the same?

I believe the Phantom knows it location based on the gps built into the drone firmware which is totally independent from the phone/tablet.
