3:06 has been released

http://www.dji.com/support?gclid=COqRms ... aQodCoEAuw

A new firmware v3.06 has been released for Phantom 2 series. Please kindly be informed. Here are the main updates:

Overview:
a) Main controller firmware updated to v3.06.
b) Central board firmware updated to v1.0.1.32
c) DJI Vision App updated to iOS v1.0.42 and Android v1.0.52.
d) Phantom 2 PC Assistant updated to v3.2.

Main controller Major New Features:
a) Added two levels of battery warnings: Low Battery Level Warning and Critical Battery Level Warning. Setup these warnings using either the DJI Phantom Assistant or DJI Vision App.

For Phantom 2 Vision or Vision+ users:
When flying the DJI Phantom 2 Vision or Vision+, the system will automatically track your current flight height and distance. It will also calculate the amount of battery power required to return home safely. Watch the battery indicator bar at the top of the screen. When the battery power falls below the Low Battery Level Warning threshold (yellow area), a notice will popup. It is recommended that you choose “Go Home” to return the aircraft to the home point safely. If you choose “Cancel”, the aircraft will continue flying until the Critical Battery Level Warning is triggered. If no choice is made, the aircraft will return home automatically after ten seconds. The motors will power off automatically once the Phantom lands.

If the Low Battery Level Warning (yellow area) is canceled, the Phantom will continue normal flight. If the battery power falls below the Critical Battery Level Warning threshold (red area), the Phantom will automatically start to descend. While descending, you may push up on the throttle to slow the descent and navigate the aircraft to a more suitable landing area. The motors will power off automatically once the Phantom lands.

For Phantom 2 users, this function is enabled by default, so Auto Go-home will be activated if the battery level reaches a Low Battery Level Warning. When returning, you may get control back using the remote controller and continue normal flight. If the battery power falls below the Critical Battery Level Warning threshold (red area), the Phantom will automatically start to descend. While descending, you may push up on the throttle to slow the descent and navigate the aircraft to a more suitable landing area. The motors will power off automatically once the Phantom lands.

b) When the battery level reaches a Critical Battery Level Warning, the aircraft will automatically land. The motors will power off after landing.
c) Descending speed will be automatically adjusted based on current altitude when the battery level reaches a Critical Battery Level Warning.
d) Minimum adjustable height limit set to 20m.
e) Magnetic declination value stored to improve flight course accuracy.
f) New fix of video signal problem that affect some Phantom 2 Vision users.
g) Various bug fixes.

DJI Vision App Major New Features:
a) The current battery level can now be viewed real-time through the DJI Vision App, via a battery level indicator bar near the top of the screen.
b) “Hotline” feature for easy access to post-sales supports.
c) “Compass Calibration” feature added.
d) “Low Battery Auto Go Home” feature added.

Phantom 2 PC Assistant Major New Features:
a) Added Japanese as a supported language.

Notes*:
1. To upgrade main controller firmware to v3.06 or above is required.
2. For Phantom 2 users, be aware that aircraft will now automatically return to the Home point on Low Battery Level Warning. If you wish to disable the auto go-home feature, launch DJI Phantom Assistant, enter “Battery Settings” section and de-select the “Go-Home” option.

I'm anxious to read first hand experiences in the field... Who's gonna try this out first?

Great idea!

Attention Phantom owners! Field testing of 3:06 will began in Canada and work it's way down

Have now DJI Vision App Android v1.0.50 but Google Play Shop insists v1.0.52 is incompatible with my device :(

Has somebody v1.0.52 apk for download?

That's a common problem. If you don't care about saving the older version, in the Vision App go to: "Settings" > "About" > "Check for New Version". It will give you the option to update.

Updated and the drifting seems to be a little better. Not bad.

Louis

2nd flight still drifts some but does not appear to be as bad as before the update...

Not bad. Certainly much better compared to pre-upgrade... but from what I understand from beta testers that the Phantom learns and get's better with flights.

Seeing on prior firms mine was perfect after 6mins of flying, it should only take 1 flight to become really straight unless you move locations by huge distances

Yesssss !
It is here now only to test, hope the rain stops !!
Thanks ianwood
And dji !
Wooot wooot

I just did a really quick test run after I calibrated. Slight TB effect I hope goes away like you said but J hook gone.

Slight TBE can just be gps inaccuracy. its huge toilet bowl movements that were really the problem, not slight ;)
