Dual Battery Mod

I wouldn't say testing the limits, more like pushing the limit! Took the 16.0 for it's 3rd flight last night in real warm calm weather, made it a mile and the a/c started spiraling out of control.

It was heading past a house towards their back half of the property, I was relieved until I went to retrieve it and saw a late night drinking party standing around an eight foot bonfire!! They was nice folk and very curious, they said it "about took Daryl's head off" !!
That was crazy and lucky.
The 3m on the bat was so strong it ripped the receiver right off the bird when the big bat departed! Lucky those good 'old boys didn't throw the bird on the grill[emoji41]

Oh **** DB, can you get her fixed up?

Can you still use DJI go or Litchi without a camera installed? At least see altitude and distance?
I use DJI Go .. I have Litchi for waypoint missions but havent used it for a long time. Without camera, everything else works fine on the screen, just no image. All other telemetry is available.

first try with the 6600 and 8000 47.5 min to 10%...Only a little better then the 2--52's...it flew good, no issues...and ill be doing it again...
Dig what does your bird weigh with the 8 and 6.6? mines at 2230

i dont have a scale which i can weigh the batteries with at the moment so not sure. I flew those two 51m 36s down to 1%, so I think those are comparable numbers. HD says i was at 48m 24s at 10% left. nice flight time .. thats soo long to be in the air, its crazy. I think 2 6600 lihvs could be a sweet setup.

you're readin my mind i was thinkin the same thing...I was going to buy 2 but hk dont have them..
I was thinkin th 14,8v ones too but theres a messup on their site and i think id end up with 2 6cells.. chatted with them for 20min tryin to explan the messup but i really dont know if they got it...specs are wrong for the 6.6

and oh yeah i actually get tired holding the remote and my thumb gets tired pushing the stick...:)

my bird with cam AUW is 2215 with 2x52's and battery clip View attachment 82092
with the 2 x 5.2 mine is 2016 with the camera mod and the vps off...

Also id like to say i see you only use the clip and I only tested it once but i took the lead out of the leg and only used the clip to run both of my batteries and i didn't get as good of a time with the 2 x 5.2's on the second flight by a few minutes so i added the lead back to the main board...I'm not positive because i only tested it once ....It seemed like to much juice to suck through only one straw...:)

Hey silver 40min is great with the cam attached...the way my cam is attached It don't like the sun much and sometimes it has the jello effect but i prefer it to not having a cam..I think 2215grams is not a problem because mine was about that with the 8 and 6 attached and i didn't see any issues...

Thanks for weighing it because now we can see we gain about 1.8sec per gram lost....

Mine and yours with the same batteries attached

46min 2015grams
40min 2215grams
360sec gain for 200grams lost
360sec / 200 =1.8 sec per gram.

I know there are other variables and it's a small sample size but still not bad to see it..

also being ours weigh pretty much the same with different batteries we can do this too

mine 47min 2215 grams (15grams off for simplicity)
6600 + 8000 14600 added mAh

yours 40min 2215 grams
5200 + 5200 10400 added mAh

diff = 4200mah and 7min (420sec)

7min (420sec) gain for 4200 mAh added

=0.1 sec per mAh

doesn't seem like much but it adds up...

hey thanks for doing the math now we have some numbers to work with .

Hey Silver those numbers ".1 sec per mah" don't seem to work out...I get 18 to 20m with an added 8000mah battery weighing 640grams and then 7 more minutes if i add a 6600 mah 540grams...we need a mathematician to draw a graph and show us the curve with weight and mah...
