Dropped my controller :(

Ok so I dropped my controller and it literally cracked into to halves, everything seems fine except the case screw points are broken through, and the ribbon for the lower trigger buttons and usb ports was ripped out...

Should I try and fix or would it be wiser to buy a new controller? Money is tight and really can't afford a new one but I'm pretty handy and I think I can fix it, but I just don't want to fix it and my bird just drops out of the sky while flying it...

Sounds like it could be repaired - I would try, unlikely bird drop out of sky - you already know what happens if RC looses contact with AC right? AC initiates RTH. One can buy replacement shell for RC too if required, although I have not.

It would be wiser to replace, less expensive to repair - your call.
