Downgrade Remote Success, How to get from 1.4.1 to 1.1.9?

I booted up with C1 and C2. Downloaded RC_FW_V1.5.7.0.bin.Shut down RC. Went into files . renamed 1.5.7 to old. Copied 1.4 to folder and renamed it exactly as the 1.5 was. Rebooted the RC using C1 and C2 again. Go back to update. Install. then I got error message. Asked me to redownload it.

1.4.1 does not have remote firmware in it.

these are the radio firmware files
download.dji-innovations.com/downloads/phantom_3/C1_FW_V01.03.0020.bin
download.dji-innovations.com/downloads/phantom_3/C1_FW_V01.04.0003.bin

Weird.
I used the 1.04 you supplied.Replaced my 1.5 with it. When I opened the app, it actually said the download was 99% done. I had to click on it to finish download to get the ability to install.
I gave it a shot, and it went 2% before failing. Text file said failed device (Firm Match wrong) reason (fail to get the version info of the firmware)

Your download may have been corrupt, try all over again. you need to let 1.5.7 download completely until you have the Begin Upgrade button. THEN rename it to old, and rename the 1.4.3 REMOTE firmware to what 1.5.7 was named...

if it doesn't work then you need to use the gs_ofdm.bin instead of the sploodge method

One thing I noticed was even after downloading a second time, the 1.5 is 28.5 in size vs 1.04 is 28.4.

yep 1.4.3 is 28.4mb
1.3.2 is 8kb smaller.

you can try going to 1.3.2 using either the C1_FW file or the original PSX......1.3.2.bin I originally used the PSX file, but later updated from 1.1.9 to 1.3.2 using the C1_FW file..

ok. I did figure out something.
I tried again. Heres what I learned..
It WILL fail. Its ok.
Tell it to try again the 2nd time, and it will finish the process.
YEAH Success, I downgraded my RC..... I have 1.3.20+ on my RC. Now I will work on the quad. Then I will post a how to for everyone. :D

maybe that's why I couldn't go from 1.4.3 to 1.1.9, maybe I had to let it fail once before it worked, instead I tried 1.3.2 then did 1.1.9... Glad to know we can go down from 1.5.7

its inside the firmware file for the Phantom itself. the P3X_FW_V01.01.0009.bin just do the same thing over and rename that firmware to what 1.5.7 is called.

FYI 1.3.2 was the last firmware that had Remote firmware in it, all other firmwares are only through the DJI GO app

Thank you. NOw the next step. I was able to get the quad from 1.5 to 1.4 which is not unheard of. Now Im trying to get it back down to 1.3.2. Have you had any luck?

well, I was only on 1.4, so I am unsure. someone on rcgroups said to use the sploodge method to get it to go down to 1.3.2...

you may need to try a combination of different things to get it to work

there is only 1 component that has been updated from 1.3.2 to 1.4.1

. My furthest forward was quad fw1.5
I got it back to 1.4 easily.
Sploodge method is not working to go to 1.3. Its not picking up the file to start the downgrade/upgrade process. Steady green light and standard beep beep.

Here is what I get even with using a sharp object and booting as in the above video

========== 2014.01.01 00:00:12 remo-con disconnect======
Packet: P3X_FW_V01.03.0020.bin
Result: Abort.
The current firmware does not support downgrade. Use a different version of firmware to downgrade the target version.

you may need to reinstall 1.4 using the sploodge method, after that completes. restart the p3 make sure its working. then restart again with 1.3.2 on the sd card

The guy on rcgroups said he went from 1.6 to 1.4, so reinstall 1.6 and then use the sploodge trick to go to 1.4.1... then he said he went to 1.4.1

it would be good to have a one post-full process from 1.6 to 1.3.2 (or 1.5 to 1.3.2)
it sounds like to be:
use downgrade fw
downgrade fw
reinstall same downgraded fw using the rc button
use downgrade fw again
downgrade fw

and keep going until you hit the fw you want.

in other words:

- you can downgrade 1 fw down with the "downgrade fw"
- you can reset that limitation by reinstalling the current fw while using the rc button

I wish it worked like that. But it doesn't.
It would be nice Zobiwu if you could help us figure this out over here. We could possibly use your help on this project.

I don't understand this problem. I've not upgraded my firmware since May 2015. Why should I? The bird is flying just fine. People are reporting all sorts of issues, and I really think, why bother upgrading something that works?
