Or you could use an Android tablet which doesn't need a cell plan. Has a built-in GPS so you always know where you are with the google map offline download which you have done ahead of time. It isn't an apple product and therefore it is half the price. Also you can add a microSD card for even more memory without breaking the bank.

You'll still be able to see where the Phantom is located on the map when using a mobile device that does not contain a GPS receiver. The Phantom contains a GPS receiver and it sends that data down to the remote controller.

I use an iPad mini 2nd gen with out much issue. Slow to load but one loaded DG4 is fine.
