Bird will not connect to iPad Air but will connect to iPhone 6+

Went out to fly this afternoon and hooked up everything as in the past RC first on then bird then app. But shows not connected. I tried this several times the same results. No video or anything so I'm thinking it's the RC cord so got another one but same results. So I used my IPhone 6+ and started right up with no problend.
So what is going on that the bird does not connect to the iPad.
Anyone had this issue

Try to uninstall and reinstall the DJI go app on iPad. It doesn't matter what turns on first. But definitely radio before phantom.

OK it's got to be somebody in here that's had the same issue and I only get one individual responding
