Batteries won’t stay on

Hi all hope someone can help, I just tried to turn on my p4 after about 4 months of not using it , I left the batteries in the charger to keep them in good condition, when I put the battery in the p4 and switch it on it come on then goes straight off again, the same thing is happening with the controller,
Has anyone got any ideas , thanks in advance. Dennis

How, exactly, are you trying to start them up? Not just pushing the button once, by any chance?

Push - Release - Push and hold 3 seconds - Release.......

The obvious is to make sure that Battery is catching on both the Top Clip and the Bottom clip. Try again. Post a video that will some more attention.
