Wifi password

hi and sorry for all the questions, I'm trying to put my own wifi password for the phantom but each time I try in the app i put the password that I want and it says restart the remote controller to apply these changes. Restart now? So press ok and says failed to connect to controller and if I turn the controller off and back on then same thing happens, am I doing something stupidly wrong and is there any real need to change the password from default anyway?

I believe when you change it you have to be connected to the drone. That's what I did on mine anyways. Good luck
