Thanks Meta4. I am a beginner flier and it helps me to be prepared for worst case scenario.

I appreciate people posting their tragic experiences for this very reason, so we can learn from their mistakes.

I have done this for many years of flying "regular" airplanes too. I read the FAA accident reports to think about what I would do....

I contacted State Farm's and was told that they DO NOT insure drones (accidental loss) in California ! Can anyone confirm that ?
