When did the compass calibration change?

GO used to say to spin the P4 flat (horizontal), and then another rotation with the camera pointing down.

Now GO says to spin it flat again, but second revolution has the P4 is on its side with the camera facing forward instead of facing down.

Anyone know the "Why?" behind this change?

Nose straight down still works just fine. You can continue to do it.
