Very odd control issue

Craft:
P2/H3-3D/iosd/irc 600mw tx/stock controller

Problem:
I have just started to notice that while flying (in GPS mode) giving commands with the right stick the P2 will sometimes pause and level out in mid air as if I returned the right stick to the center (which I do not). If I continue to hold the right stick in the direction I want to go it will resume the path. It only does this occasionally and for maybe a half second or so at a time.

I have flown this setup for close to 7 months with no real problems.

Sounds like something may be interrupting or interfering with the controller TX. Do you see any change in the lights at the time? Do they turn yellow?

Maybe a potentiometer going bad. Connect to the assistant and check that your sticks are communicating smoothly. Also check the s1 switch. Bad connection might make it switch to Atti mode intermittently.

Go into assistant software -> Basic -> RC and recalibrate your sticks. Then do an advanced IMU calibration.
