I bought a uv lens cover thinking they fit over existing lens, nope think i need to unscrew existing first. I read somewhere somebody saying, once they managed to get orignal off it was ok.but seems tight do they come off dont wont to force

It's not really as tight as it seems. Grip it as lightly as possible and turn it to the left. If you cannot grip it without squeezing it, then wear rubber gloves or wrap something else rubber around it. The filter is very thin and fragile, so you do not want to squeeze it.

the tweezer like motor tool that came wit the Phantom works well too.

Uv cover is very delicate item, handle with care. You can use latex gloves and unscrew is carefully.

You don't really need a special tool. Just some latex / thin rubber gloves, a rubber band or heavy tape. The trick is to place NO COMPRESSION on the incredibly thin ring made out of thrice recycled aluminum cans. Lateral (actually tangential) force only.

Then replace it with a half decent ND filter.
