Phantom 3 is a different, later model drone than p 2.
You just buy a phantom 3. I think you may be thinking that a software upgrade will change phantom 2 to phantom 3 & that is not the case. It's a different bird entirely.
You can find phantom 3 used on ebay for a few hundred dollars.
