This was the 3rd time I have called in a week, previous two times, all I said was I was operating a quadcopter, gave my location, and my altitude and duration on planned flying. Fine, no problems...today, I was put on hold...twice, then another person picked up, asked for my name, took it down, then asked for my number. I don't think these folks have any idea what to do with the information I am providing them, and to be frank, I am not sure I need to share my name or number. I do not want to be targeted.

Do I really need to share my info...the call is only a guideline, and I am not sure how I feel about being "known."

    Thoughts?

Why worry, so long as you are not doing anything out of bounds. My local airport has my name, address, phone #, pilot license number etc...
