What kind of secondary camera would fold into a GoPro workflow the best way? I'm using the GoPro for aerial shots but would like to add another camera for interiors and B roll shots, with more focus and aperture control. I have a couple of Nikon DX lenses so I'm considering a Nikon DSLR (D7100), but heard that they're not so great for video. I've looked at so many prosumer camcorders that my head is spinning. I have a budget of about $2000, and have used a Sony Handycam in the past, for what that's worth.
The reason I'm concerned is that I'm worried about having to spend too much time trying to match footage from a GoPro and another camera in post production. Truthfully, I'm not even sure it's going to be an issue, because I have yet to do it.
Bottom line...if you had $2000 for a video camera, what would you buy and why?
