china doesn't really do copyright, i watched an episode of top gear ( UK clarkson and co ) and they went to china and were driving in what looked to be a BMW X5, they company building it were taken to court in china by BMW but the court decided it didn't look like a BMW X5 at all and copyright wasn't infringed. it was a clone of an X5, probably a very bad mechanically clone, but the spitting image.
FYI - Your Phantom is made in China too. DJI is based in Shen Zhen. There are other "similar" UAV's out there. Including, but not limited to Walkera and the like.
Very true. But I think this one is pretty unique in that it's a pretty blatant design rip-off. Right down to the controller.
I think that's the part that brings china's lax copyright laws into the discussion.
