Just received new RC with wheel and proceeded to upgrade all software and firmware, however while in the assistant program I noticed it states Phantom in the upper right corner. I noticed on some Youtube videos that it should state Phantom 2+, is this an issue or am I being paranoid, don't want to put the bird in the air unless I'm certain everything checks out. Have over 60 flights with no issues.

Thanks for verification, just wanted to make sure everything was in order with the firmware updates. I hear all these horror stories about phanton's flying away, never to be heard from again, after updates. Time to charge up the batteries and try out the new gimbal wheel.

If you don't want to be one of those stories, then it would be a good idea to switch to NAZA-M mode. That'll help you regain control in a case where the GPS is not working as expected. It'll also allow you to do things like tell your Phantom to return to home if you lose video but not remote signal.
