Phantom 2 propeller guards are not compatible with the Phantom 3.

etc6849, the only difference is the length of the screws. P3 screws are shorter.

My calipers show ~11.8 mm for the length of the P2 screws. My washers are ~1.68mm. Since this is close to 10mm I think things will be fine or are the correct screws even shorter?

I don't know the exact size of the screws. Here's a comparison posted by someone else:

yes that will work-- I cut 3 mm off the screws that came with the prop guards just to make sure.

Thanks guys! One thing I noticed is that the phantom 2 guards come very close on one side of the prop; there's only about 1/4" of clearance due to the angled prop and motor! Any thoughts on this aspect of using them?

I also bought the quick detatchable guards off Amazon. They seem nice and have ample prop clearance, but my flight time is even worse with them, only about 12 minutes versus 18 minutes with no prop guards.
