P3 Firmware P3 Adv Firmware update error

Can anyone point me in the right direction please:
DJI Phantom 3 Advanced
In DJI Go, following message on top line of Camera menu which stated firmware needs updating installed
DJI Phantom 3 Advanced: Firmware updated to latest available = P3S_FW_V01.09.0060
RC: Firmware updated to latest available = 1.6.0

Both updates successful.

Errors:
Starting: DJI Go Mode 'A' flight reported correctly ie camera bar in centre top menu bar of display is brown, reporting Mode 'A'; AND warning message of Mode 'A' flight suggesting use GPS, on LHS camera view screen.
After aprox 10 mins of flight DJI Go reports loss of connection, camera view goes black, P3A still responds to input from RC.
Power down, then initiate normal turn on connection.
Manual switch on RC unit set to Mode 'A' but camera bar in centre top menu bar of display is now green reporting GPS mode, but warning of Mode 'A' flight suggesting use GPS standard message on LHS camera view screen.

Complete crash of DJI Go during flight is not good!
Conflicting Mode GPS and 'A' status is not good!

Is this a firmware error?
Should I re-install earlier version of firmware?
Which version of firmware is stable?
Is there any other fix?
Am I doing something wrong?

The latest Controller firmware is 1.8

OK forgive the next dummy question but how do I distinguish the RC firmware from the list published at DJI ( I am looking in Phantom 3 Advanced - Specs, FAQ, Tutorials, Downloads and DJI GO - DJI) from the aircraft Firmware?

You update the Tx firmware from the app. Go into the app and under settings/about it will tell you what firmware you have in everything along with the app version.
