You're thinking of the Phantom 2 Vision, which has the DJI camera attached and a proprietary video downlink that requires an iphone or android device. The regular Phantom 2 has no camera from the factory, and you can use whatever FPV transmitter/receiver/monitor set you want (as long as they're compatible with each other).
Most common FPV transmitters do work on the voltage found on-board, regardless of which Phantom you get.
