I don't think you should go thru Amazon. It is DJI fault for the update. It worked well for 3 weeks prior. NOT Amazons fault. Deal with the manufacturer, don't be dishonest and return a used, broken drone.
I agree that it is not Amazons fault. Nor is it his fault, he didn't break the product it failed, isn't that why you would buy a product from a retailer that gives you a 30 day guarantee?
It is in Amazons Business plan, I am sure they also have an agreement with DJI. When Amazon makes there purchase's I bet they make an adjustment with DJI on all returned products.
I bought my P2V+ directly from DJI, the units FPV would work 1 out 5 tries and then quit in about 10-20 secs.
Only choice, send it in for repair, took 1 week after it had been received to be checked in, overall it was gone 7 weeks, they had it 6.
Then I lost it in the woods, I believe it is stuck it in a tree. The P3S came out about 5 days later. Wow good price I will use it to look for the lost. Only place to buy it, DJI direct, Amazon was just now getting inventory on P3 A/P's. P3S, went defective on a firmware update.
Phantom 3-Std Weak Remote Signal
Same thing, I can't return it, I have to send it in for repair.
Only had one chance to use P3S to look for the P2V+ before winter and the rains hit, one flight and I got rained out. Spent another 2 hours on foot looking in the place I wanted fly.
