Needing tips on using Active track p4p

So weather is going to be great tomorrow sunshine and 5 to 10 knt max winds on the bay, I'm taking my p4p and attempt to use active track for the first time just lookink for some tips and what is the best distance to be from drone to boat? any advice would be great!

Probably too late given I've only just found your post, but my experience varies with the subject being tracked and the surrounding area. Out in the open, it seems to work fine but tracking an object amongst dense trees etc causes the subject to be lost and the drone will just sit there and hover. Be sure to be in the air at least three metres, in P mode, look for the highlighted subject on the screen and hit 'GO'. I had most luck with the subject being within ten and twenty mtrs.
