Well, NOT exactly.
Actually the MAS Phantom props run on slightly lower RPMs (like 1-2%) to reach the same thrust levels. At the same time they are about 5-7% more efficient as power consumption.
Talking about the FC onboard, BigAL07 is perfectly right. This is why I was so skeptical at first place. My tests shows that the original DJI props and the Master Airscrew Phantom Props perform very similar to one another, however the MAS props have a bit different noise (I would say quieter) and have definitely lower torque requirement for the same thrust levels. Hence have better efficiency and higher g/W ratings.
So the only thing that the FC might be "thinking" at that moment is like it has bigger battery but have skipped the extra weight of it.
DJI have perfect products, I really love them. But cannot argue that those props are better. They really are!
The only downside is the lack of the easy click system. I guess it is patented by DJI so this is why MAS have a regular threaded shafts as the only option.
