Litchi questions

So yesterday I used "Litchi" in waypoint mode for the first time and whilst the flight went, well other than getting a scare at the height I had set it at, I did feel a bit vulnerable in terms of giving control away. I have two questions:

I flew the mission in P.....is that correct?
What is the easiest way to regain manual control during a waypoint mission once it is running?

With the Phantom 4, it HAS to be in P mode or the mission will not start (page 26, in the manual). To cancel (not pause) and regain control while the mission is running, switch to S mode (also on page 26 of the manual). This, of course, will only work if you have contact with the bird.

If you've planned the mission well, let it do its thing. It can be nervewracking but you'll learn to trust it.
