Litchi and DJI firmware

Hello,
I would like to purchase Litchi app (to use with my P3P /android)
Do I really need to update first DJI firmware on my Phantom an RC?
I am still on 2.8.0 app ver:1.8.80 and 1.6.0 (RC) and it flies perfect!

What do you suggest Litchi users? Thanks!

I didn't update my Standard, all seems to be fine, I think I'm three behind.

I am fully up to date. But I'm using IOS. All is good on my P3S.

I was looking for your post to see if anyone had answered since I had the same query initially

I have been running missions with my Standard with an Samsung Tabs 8.4 with older FW than Rod.
I had a lot of trouble with GO/Litchi conflict until my son rolled back the OS to android 5

I still have random problems like having to completely close and reopen the app to get a second mission to load
,occasional app crashes and some times the display showing the AC position on the app is way out of sync.
Ironically I feel the AC is the safest when doing its thing on a mission rather than FPV mode.

So is it a FW problem ?Who knows but Im not changing mine anyway.

Its all about planning carefully before you go out and fly.
And I dont think you will be on GO 2.8 app anymore.
