Be sure to save it as the original file coming out of iMovie, also YT probably compresses it some. Try Vimeo and see if you get better results. 1080 shouldn't be a problem.
I save the footage to my photo's on iPad then transferred to my pc. When I played it on my pc it seemed jerky. I then added the soundtrack using movie maker before uploading to YouTube where I seemed to loose some of the resolution
Oh well theres your problem, the iPad has a low res copy... you need to get it from the memory card. Also, most movie editing software will compress it some. Go over the setting to minimize this.
I did my 1st with iMovie this weekend. You have to do it on the computer if you have a Mac. I have a MacMini and saved it as a 1080p after I finished. When saving, save it with best quality for footage. That will help. This helped with those issues
