Flew a little today and noticed I was going over 40 mph with a small tailwind.
That is a pretty good clip with no TW
How did you manage to measure the tailwind at that altitude?
That is a great question--
That also shows your vertical speed at 42mph!!
Of course, that may be a normal thing? I don't guess I've ever thought about it or looked in a full-throttle up or down.
Put it in attitude mode and walla, there is your wind speed.
EDIT: Maybe I need to explain it better. Put it in attitude mode and let it drift with the wind.
The speed indicated should be pretty close to what the wind speed is aloft.
My best speed is 65 MPH as recorded with my Flytrex. No clue what the tail wind was. I was only interested in getting my 75 MPH badge. Still working on it.
Local weather reported no wind but yes i dont know at 200-300 ft.
UAV Weather Forecast
I entered 400ft for altitude, looks like a front is moving through tomorrow!
I've hit 51.3mph with a brisk tailwind.
Top speed for me was 45.9 with a 10-12 mph tailwind
I know my tailwind was at least 20mph...................... that's our "minimum" wind speed down here on the Oklahoma prairie!!!
